Over the years my photography has gone through some transformations, from traditional to more painterly photo impressionism. I continuously strive to make my images uniquely different. A good friend of mine said that, “I’m a photographer with a painter’s soul.” I have been a photographer for over 30 years and I have seen big changes in the last ten years. Photography has moved from the traditional film to the digital age. Computers and imaging software have expanded photographer’s horizons and many of us are riding the crest of this new frontier. It feels good to me to be part of this exciting experience. Where this journey will end up, I haven’t got a clue, but I am enjoying the ride! The process of creating my work is not magic. It can, however, be a struggle at times to create my vision. The camera is a vessel that captures my idea. When that idea is released into Photoshop it allows me to transform that idea into an image that many times amazes even me! Photoshop is to me what the painter’s pallet is to a painter.
